Business As Mission

BAM is generally described as any for-profit business endeavor that seeks to reach people and communities for the glory of God—through the integration of ministry goals and business goals—and is not artificially supported by donor funds.

Who We Are ...

Our Mission

To spread a passion for the supremacy of God in all things for the joy of all peoples through Jesus Christ by promoting business as mission through ...

  • aggressive participation in completing the global task of reaching unreached peoples
  • serving and being enriched by the wider movements of God’s Spirit across church and cultural lines
  • developing real, viable, sustainable, and profitable businesses with a Kingdom purpose, perspective, and impact
  • a transformation of people and societies—spiritually, economically, socially, and environmentally to the greater glory of God.

Objectives

  1. Train business leaders, global partners, and other selected partners in BAM principles.
  2. Promote strategic global business positions to Bethlehem members.
  3. Establish markets for products from Bethlehem/selected global partners with companies in global partner locations.

How to Get Involved ...

Level 1

Level 1 mentors are available to work with global partners who have specific questions or who are looking for general advice on how to run their business. The mentor’s name, interests, experience, and background are added to a database of trusted advisors that a global partner can reference.

Time Commitment: 0–1 hour/month

Level 2

A Level 2 mentor works individually with global partners to develop a trusted relationship and to be a resource and advisor, committed to actively engaging with the global partner.

Time Commitment: 0–2 hours/month
1 trip overseas (1–3 weeks, if possible)

  • Proactively reach out to encourage and check in with your global partners/BAM team(s).
  • Connect your BAM team with friends and colleagues who may be of assistance.
  • Participate in a short-term ministry or vision trip to their location.

Level 3

Level 3 mentors work with one dedicated global partner as a committed and trusted advisor. This most closely resembles assisting as a board of directors member whose goal is to see a business or organization succeed.

Time Commitment: 2–8 hours/month
1–2 trip overseas per year (as needed)
