South Campus Building Project Update #5
From Jon Hendricks, Chair of the South Campus Building Committee ...
Thanks to all of you who have been praying! God has moved in exciting ways!
On August 17, the Lakeville Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of our building plans. Just as important, we had many cordial and conciliatory conversations with our concerned neighbors following the vote. Although there was disappointment among some, they appreciated that we heard their concerns and took measures to improve screening and buffering.
We are now in the process of entering into a developer agreement with Lakeville. Our next milestone is September 5, when the Lakeville City Council meets to approve our plans and the developer agreement.
Once approval is granted on those two items, we’ll seek a grading permit. That permit will allow us to clear the land and move dirt. This general grading will shape the land to accommodate the driveways onto our site, the parking lots, water retention ponds, and the building itself.
Simultaneously, our architect will be drawing the detailed construction documents used for the final bidding of the project.
Please continue in prayer. Either join us Tuesday mornings at 6:30am at the 501 Bldg in Burnsville, or pray for us at that time, wherever you may be.
Thank you for your partnership!
