Global Focus 2017: Engaging Islam
(With Micah B.)
Global Focus 2017 is underway!
This year, our Global Focus theme narrows in on the topic of “Engaging Islam.” Throughout the 12 days of Global Focus, we will identify opportunities and approaches to best reach out to Muslims near (in the Twin Cities area) and far (around the world).
Georges Houssney, author of Engaging Islam and international speaker with Horizons International, will be joining us as our Global Focus guest speaker to help us think through how to engage with our Muslim neighbors and how to best take the gospel to Muslims around the world. In addition to this, we will host Mike Latsko, who trains and equips churches to understand how to support and send individuals to work with Muslim unengaged peoples.
We are asking that God would raise up workers to go to areas where there is little to no gospel presence and to reach out through community development, business, and biblical teaching. When gospel workers arrive in hard places, they often find that God is already at work, breaking into the lives of men and women with dreams, visions, and his steadfast love.
A story from our October 11 Kick-Off …
In Senegal, a Muslim leader had a dream of a man dressed in white who said, “Read my book.” So the next day, he came up to an American who happened to be a global partner, and said, “Are you one of those ‘Jesus people’? I believe that Jesus spoke to me in a dream and told me to read his book. Do you have one of those?” The global partner gave him a Bible written in his heart language.

Let us continue to pray with urgency that God would reveal himself through visions and dreams to people like this Muslim leader in Senegal. We also pray that the Lord would send more from Bethlehem to herald the good news of God’s kingdom to our Muslim neighbors here in the Twin Cities and around the world!
